For the second year in a row, The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai has been honoured by the readers of Travel + Leisure magazine in the “500 Greatest Hotels and Resorts in the World” annual list.

With the rating based on rooms/facilities, location, restaurants/food and value, the magazine’s well-travelled readers also recognised the service excellence of the hotel’s ladies and gentlemen.

Delighted by the award, Vice President and Area General Manager Mark DeCocinis said, “This recognition from our guests reinforces the fact that each guest enjoyed an exceptional experience during their stay in our hotel. However, we must keep focusing on the basics and continue to anticipate and exceed their expectations each and every time.”

In 2003, The Portman Ritz-Carlton was awarded “The Best Employer in Asia” and “The Best Employer in China” for the second consecutive time by Hewitt Associates, The Asian Wall Street Journal and Far Eastern Economic Review. Additionally, the hotel was also awarded “Overall Best Business Hotel in Asia” for the second year running and “The Best Business Hotel in China” for the fourth time by Bloomberg Television and Business Asia magazine.

The 578-room hotel is a landmark located in a retail, dining and entertainment complex on the famous Nanjing Road.
