Representing some of the best 4 and 5 star international hotels in Shanghai with 29 hotels and over 11,000 rooms the former Association of International Hoteliers Shanghai has been renamed to International Branded Hotels Shanghai (IBHS), a division of the Shanghai Hotel Industry Association.

Meeting on a regular basis since 1993 with initially 9 member hotels the IBHS has been able to exchange ideas and network not only amongst themselves but also with key agencies such as Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administrative Commission and international bodies like the ICCA - International Congress & Convention Association. Promotional tours with member hotels and City officials to North America were also carried out in 2000 and 2001 to promote Shanghai as a destination.

Chairman of the new International Branded Hotels Shanghai, Mr. Hans Hauri, said “On behalf of the new IBHS Association I am delighted by this new recognition and look forward to continue the excellent working relationship we have with the Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administrative Commission and the Shanghai Hotel Industry Association.”
